Zones
The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act enacted by Congress in December 2017 created a national program to incentivize equity investments in low income communities. Governors of all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and 5 U.S. Territories were empowered to select U.S. census tracts meeting defined income qualifying standards and have them certified by the IRS as Opportunity Zones. Investors who reinvest earnings, either through direct investment or Qualified Opportunity Zone Funds, in any of these 8766 Opportunity Zones receive beneficial tax treatment. The CapZone Executive Team generates proprietary deal flow in Opportunity Zone investment projects nationwide by leveraging its strategic public and private sector relationships, critical insights and investment expertise. CapZone is launching a Qualified Opportunity Fund to originate and manage these investments while concurrently developing a research and analytics platform to advise on investing in ESG + Resilience at scale.
